Andy (Jim Broadbent) is a professional chef and DIY enthusiast who buys a decrepit hamburger van. His wife (Alison Steadman) helps out at a Parisian-themed restaurant, The Regret Rien. Of their daughters, Nicola (Jane Horrocks) suffers from anorexia and is obsessed with men and Marxism, while Natalie (Claire Skinner), an apprentice plumber, dreams of escaping to America.
This hilarious yet tragic domestic portrait features a dazzling ensemble performances and remains a potent, true to life story.
