Ex-cat burglar John Robie (Cary Grant) finds himself forced to prove his innocence after a spate of burglaries on the French Riviera. The only way he can clear himself is by catching the real thief. Co-starring Grace Kelly, who met her future husband Prince Ranier of Monaco on set. It was her third film for Hitchcock (after Dial M for Murder and Rear Window).

The Country Girl
Melodrama based the play by Clifford Odets, starring Bing Crosby against type as alcoholic, guilt-ridden has-been Broadway star Frank Elgin, alongside a de-glamourised Grace Kelly in an Oscar-winning performance as his dedicated wife Georgie. When hotshot young director Bernie Dodd (William Holden) tries to get Elgin back on his feet by offering him a role in his new musical, his initial impression of the Elgins' marriage gives way to admiration for Georgie, and the discovery that all is not as it first seemed...
